Nayab

"Nishat Ma'am gave up the comforts of Delhi and came to Rataul when there was not even proper electricity or water here - and her hard work is shining in Rataul today."

Nayab was born in Rataul. Her father's name is Aftab and her mother's name is Saida. She began her schooling at Salma Public School and has now been here five years. She is currently continuing her higher studies at Tejas Institute College.

From childhood, Nayab had a dream of becoming a teacher - and it was Salma that gave her that chance. She loves badminton and enjoys sitting in the garden during her free time. She is always respectful to her elders.

Of the founders she writes with deep feeling: thirty years ago, Zahoor Sir and Nishat Ma'am worked tirelessly to build a bright future for the children of Rataul. Nishat Ma'am was a government teacher in Delhi - she gave up that security, gave up the ease of city life, and came to Rataul when basic amenities were absent. "But their hard work is shining in Rataul today," Nayab writes. "I hope Salma Public School stays alive and thriving."
