Zainab lives in Rataul and completed her schooling at Sant Mary Inter College before earning her B.A. from Mahamana Malaviya Mahavidyalaya in Khekra. She has been teaching at Salma Public School for four years.
Zainab describes the school environment as disciplined yet warm, and says Principal Sheeba Ma'am's guidance has always been a source of inspiration. She enjoys learning new things and continually working to improve herself. Music is her favourite pastime.
Of the school's founders, she writes: "The founder Zahoor Sir is an example in himself, and Manager Nishat Ma'am was a dedicated and inspiring teacher. They left government employment to establish this school for the poor children of the village - that speaks to their true commitment to education."
