Heena

"Nishat Ma'am and Zahoor Sir gave up government jobs to open a school for children like me. Because of them, I could study."

Heena was born on 9 August 1996 into a labourer's family in Rataul. Her mother tutored children at home - teaching Hindi, English, Maths and Urdu - while her father worked as a daily-wage earner. Her older siblings worked hard to ensure the younger children could stay in school.

Heena's very first steps in education were at Salma Public School, from LKG to Class 2. She went on to complete her schooling through other institutions in Rataul and has now returned to Salma as a teacher - an opportunity she holds with deep pride. Principal Sheeba Ma'am took a chance on her ability rather than her qualifications, and for that Heena is sincerely grateful.

When Clearwater Analytics joined, extra teaching allowances were introduced - a meaningful support for teachers like Heena who give additional hours after school through the Islahi Taleem programme. "I thank Harsh Sir and Anurag Sir from the bottom of my heart," she writes. On 19 September 2026, Heena will complete nine years at Salma. She plans to continue her graduation alongside her teaching.
