Digital Smart Classroom Pilot in Salma Public School – In Partnership with Lotus Petal Foundation
To strengthen foundational learning outcomes for students, Salma Public School has partnered with Lotus Petal Foundation to implement a Digital Smart Classroom pilot under the Vidya Sahyog program.
The initiative focuses on improving foundational literacy and numeracy for students in Grades 1–5 by integrating interactive digital learning tools with classroom teaching. As part of the program design, a baseline assessment was conducted in August 2025 to evaluate students’ learning levels in English and Mathematics. The assessment revealed that many students were performing 1–2 grade levels below expectations, highlighting the need for structured academic support and technology-enabled instruction.
Based on these findings, the intervention includes the installation of an Interactive Flat Panel equipped with curriculum-aligned digital content, enabling teachers to deliver visually engaging and interactive lessons.
The program follows a structured implementation approach that includes:
Baseline assessment of students’ learning levels in English and Mathematics
Installation of digital classroom infrastructure including an interactive panel, learning platform, and internet connectivity
Teacher training and capacity building to integrate digital tools into classroom pedagogy
Interactive lessons using multimedia content, quizzes, and exercises aligned with the UP-Board curriculum
Continuous monitoring and periodic assessments to measure improvements in learning outcomes
Through this initiative, approximately 250 students from Grades 1–5 will directly benefit from improved access to interactive learning resources and enhanced classroom engagement.
The pilot will run from March 2026 to March 2027, during which the program will track learning progress, classroom usage, and teacher adoption to evaluate impact and explore potential scale-up.
